Editorial method
How we handle a measurement.
Start with the source: standards bodies and primary manufacturer guidance come first. Where no universal standard exists, we call the number guidance rather than presenting it as a rule.
Keep conversions traceable: units are calculated from a stated base value, and interactive tools show the formula behind the result.
Put caveats beside the answer: pattern gauge, material behavior, manufacturer labeling, fit preference, and finishing can matter as much as the reference number.
Review changes: factual pages name their source and review date so corrections can be checked against the same evidence.

The chart is a starting point. Your pattern, label, and measured sample decide the project.
